“The Mask of Fashion,” is a work specifically created by American prison artist C-Note in 2024, for the 26th Annual “Works on Paper,” a national juried competition and exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences, Long Beach Island, New Jersey, May 18 – July 18, 2024.

The work is Collage and wax on paper. The collage being black canvas glued on top of a wax portrait drawing of a woman, also known as “Untitled Woman with Green Eyes.”

Donald “C-Note” Hooker is a poet, playwright, performing artist, award winning visual artist, and is known as the King of Prison Hip Hop. His works have either been exhibited, performed, recited, or sold, from Alcatraz to Berlin. In 2017, Google Search listed him in their search results, as both America’s, and the world’s most prolific prisoner-artist.
