Spokane officials show support for criminal justice initiative, concerns still remain

SPOKANE, Wash. — In just a few months, Spokane voters will decide whether to fund an upgrade to county criminal justice facilities and programs.

The question, now being called Measure 1, will ask voters to approve a .02% sales tax increase that would generate $1.7 billion in the next 30 years to improve criminal justice programs and build a new jail.
