Puzhal Central Prison staff suspended for supplying ganja and drugs to jail inmate | Chennai News

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu prison department has suspended a staff of the Puzhal Central Prison for supplying ganja and drugs to an inmate.
Based on specific info, a team of prison intelligence officials conducted a surprise check in prison blocks on Monday. The team recovered six drug tablets and 30 gram of ganja from undertrial prisoner Allwyn’s cell.
Prison officials ordered an internal probe which revealed that prison staff Thirumalai Nambi Raja had supplied ganja and drugs to Allwyn.
Allwyn and his brother were arrested by the economic offences wing CID police for floating a fake financial firm named ART Gold Jewellery in Mogappair and luring people to invest in their schemes by promising huge interests every month.
