PRESS RELEASE
LONGMONT COMMUNITY JUSTICE PARTNERSHIP
*************************************************************
Longmont, CO: Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP) invites you to In Their Words, a fundraising event to celebrate the individuals who have participated in Community Restorative Justice. Join us to hear powerful accounts of relationships being healed, stories of growth and resilience, and experiences of community belonging and reintegration. In Their Words will be held at the Longmont Museum on Friday, September 22nd from 5:30PM-9:00PM. Tickets are available at www.lcjp.org/theirwords23.
In Their Words will not only educate on the spectrum of restorative justice and its countless impacts, but also allow event-goers to understand how restorative justice is rooted in community. “[Restorative Justice] can be transformational for people, it can be transformational for communities and, all people coming together to support one vision is also transformational,” said Shalene Onyango, Executive Director, LCJP.
For an impressive three decades, LCJP has been at the forefront of change, partnering with key local organizations, and touching the lives of over 15,000 people in Longmont with a proven track record of resolving instances of crime and conflict by utilizing a spectrum of restorative practices. LCJP’s Restorative Justice interventions equip individuals with the support and skills to take responsibility and repair harm, and give individuals who have been harmed a voice in seeking resolution. As a community-based organization LCJP relies on a strong community of supporters to continue our work. If you’re unable to make it to the event, please consider offering your time as a volunteer or making a meaningful donation by visiting: www.lcjp.org
“In Their Words” will feature captivating stories, fun games and prizes, delicious food provided by Rev Mex Food Truck & Catering, and music by our favorite DJ Duo, Lovtron!
Event registration is open online until Friday, September 15th. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door. Come support LCJP’s work, promoting a vision of justice that
addresses the underlying causes of crime and emphasizes long-term healing for everyone involved.
