We have to admit, it’s pretty damn beautiful if you can get visions of Chopper Read’s ear being cut off out of your head.
The Interlude is the new luxury hotel in Pentridge Prison with suites and experiences ranging from $499 to $1,099 per night. It’s the latest in a huge range of redevelopment at the historic Coburg site, which also include a brewery and a cinema.
Purchased by the Shayher Group in 2013, in a derelict state, the depth of the site’s cultural significance has guided its redevelopment. The Interlude, in many ways, is the highlight of these rejuvenations (although not without controversy) and offers an array of luxurious rituals and refreshments along with two curated wellness and wine experiences.
