A display of “Rock Art in Wyoming” at the Wyoming Territorial Prison Historic Site.
Hand-drawn and carved images created in Wyoming’s distant past are explored in the traveling exhibit, “Rock Art in Wyoming,” at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site.
The traveling exhibit, on display at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site through February 10, is on loan from the Fort Caspar Museum in Casper.
Through the exhibit, the public can learn about the different styles and types of rock art found throughout Wyoming. The public can explore the history and imagery of rock art from across the state and learn about the many different styles and types.
Staff at the Fort Caspar Museum worked with members of the Wyoming Archaeological Society to produce this exhibit. When the exhibit closes in Laramie, it continues to travel around Wyoming on a statewide tour.
The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site is open Thursday through Saturday from 10AM to 3PM. Access to the exhibit is included in regular admission fees. Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site is located at 975 Snowy Range Road in Laramie.
