Conservative podcaster Steve Bannon is due to begin his federal prison sentence on Monday, in what promises to be a turbulent few months for the former Trump advisor.
70-year-old Bannon will begin his sentence in Connecticut but could end up facing more jail time in New York.

Why Is Bannon Going To Prison?
Bannon, a former Donald Trump White House chief strategist, was sentenced to four months in October 2022 after he was found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress.
Why Contempt Of Congress?
Despite repeated warnings, Bannon failed to respond to a subpoena issued to him by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack.
So what happens now?
Bannon must report on Monday to the Federal Corrections Institute [FCI] in Danbury, Connecticut.
What’s the security like in Danbury?
On the Federal Bureau of Prisons classification system, Danbury is low security, as opposed to minimum security.
What’s the difference?
According to the bureau’s website, low-security federal prisons have “double-fenced perimeters, mostly dormitory or cubicle housing, and strong work and program components. The staff-to-inmate ratio in these institutions is higher than in minimum security facilities.”
In contrast, “minimum security institutions, also known as Federal Prison Camps (FPCs), have dormitory housing, a relatively low staff-to-inmate ratio, and limited or no perimeter fencing. These institutions are work- and program-oriented.”
Danbury is low security with a minimum security satellite camp attached.
It’s very likely that Bannon will serve his time in the low-security section.
Will He Serve The Full Four Months?
Unlikely. Under federal rules, he will probably have to serve 85 percent of the sentence and then may be released for good behavior.
So He Will Be Free To Leave Then?
That’s where it gets complicated. Bannon goes on trial in September on charges that he defrauded donors who gave to his ‘We Build The Wall’ campaign to build a wall along the U.S. Mexican border.
Bannon has pleaded not guilty to all charges brought in New York.
It is the same District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, and the same judge, Juan Merchan, involved in the Stormy Daniels hush money case taken against Donald Trump.
Is Bannon Facing Federal Charges For The ‘We Build The Wall’ Case?
No, Trump pardoned him and claimed his old friend was a victim of a political witch hunt. Bragg only took up the case after Trump pardoned Bannon, as a president cannot pardon anyone for state crimes.
Does Bannon’s imprisonment mean a hiatus in his WarRoom podcast?
No, the show will go on, with some conservative heavyweights announcing that they would like to host while Bannon is away.
GOP Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Lauren Boebert are among those who will likely take turns hosting.
In a press statement, Bannon’s daughter, Maureen Bannon, wrote: “The Left thinks they are going to silence WarRoom by putting my Dad, Stephen K. Bannon, in prison leading up to the election. What they don’t understand is they will NEVER silence WarRoom.”
