Watertown Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Multiple Child Pornography Charges

{KXLG – Watertown, SD} Gracie Ann Stanton, 20, of Watertown, SD, has pleaded not guilty to a series of charges related to child pornography and criminal solicitation. Stanton’s initial appearance in court occurred on February 18, 2025, when she entered her plea.

Stanton faces a total of 71 charges. These include two counts of Distributing Child Pornography (SDCL 22-24A-36), a Class 3 Felony, with the alleged offenses occurring on July 15, 2024, and August 24, 2024.

The remaining 69 charges are comprised of numerous counts of Possessing Child Pornography (SDCL 22-24A-35), a Class 4 Felony, and Criminal Solicitation of a Class 3 Felony (SDCL 22-4A-1), also a Class 4 Felony. The alleged possessions span multiple dates, including July 15, 2024, and numerous instances on various dates in November 2024. The alleged solicitations are reported to have occurred on various dates between July and August 2024.

The case originated with an indictment filed on February 13, 2025, followed by a request for an arrest warrant and the subsequent issuance and service of a warrant. The attorneys representing the State of South Dakota are Alison M. Bakken and Joseph N. Thronson. Attorney Amanda Marie Thole represents Stanton.

Court records indicate that a status hearing is scheduled for May 7, 2025, at 1:15 PM, and a jury trial is set for May 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
