According to the victim, she first met the singer in November 2018 through an acquaintance. The singer is said to have debuted in the mid-90s and was a singer and actor.

When she met him, the victim revealed that the singer was running a wine bar in Seoul. According to the victim, after dating for three months, the singer asked for money, stating he was going through financial problems. The victim then reluctantly gave him ₩69.0 million KRW (about $52,400 USD).

The two then broke up in 2020, and when the victim asked for her money back, the singer refused and claimed the victim had given him the money. The victim then filed a lawsuit against the singer, who then filed for personal bankruptcy.

When did I ask to borrow money? Didn’t you give me the money because you wanted to? I never asked to borrow money.

Through this process, the victim learned that the singer didn’t own the wine bar but was an employee and that he had also been cheating on her with a woman 15 years younger.

The victim then also learned that the singer had previously borrowed ₩60.0 million KRW (about $45,600 USD) from a previous woman he was dating. Eventually, the court sided with the victim and sentenced the singer to one year in prison. The singer has since appealed the decision, and the two are awaiting the next trial.
