Texas is set to resume executions after a rare summer when none have occurred. Even more rare – the man to be killed is Jewish. If Jedidiah Murphy, 48, is executed on Tuesday, his will be the 578the state execution since 1982, and the 1,578th execution in the United States since 1977.
