Female Israeli soldiers have been pulled from prisons within Israel after one was suspected of having sex with a convicted terrorist.
The decision was announced by Israel Prison Service Commissioner Katy Perry and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir after news of the scandal broke last week.
Apparently, the decision to pull the female soldiers was made before the scandal but was been delayed due to manpower issues.
According to the Jewish Chronicle, the accused female guard began an intimate with the convicted Palestinian terrorist over the past year.
The “Fatah member [was] convicted of involvement in a terrorist attack in central Israel that led to the deaths of Israelis,” the Chronicle reports.
The lawyer for the unidentified guard denies that his client had a consensual relationship with the prisoner and claims she gave in to being sexually abused after threats.
Neither the woman nor the inmate has been identified but she has been arrested and an investigation launched into the incident.
The terrorist was placed in solitary confinement.
