Execution of at Least 45 Prisoners in the Past Three Weeks
On Thursday, October 12, agents of the Khamenei regime hanged at least five inmates in Urmia Central Prison. Among the victims was Hossein Mohammadi, a 52-year-old resident of Bukan, who was executed after spending 14 years behind bars. On Wednesday, October 11, the regime’s judiciary executioners hanged five prisoners. Hossein Bahrehmand was executed in Hamedan Central Prison, while Shahab Elhami, along with Nazir Mohammad Tajik, Noor Mohammad Barbri, and another inmate, met the gallows in Qezalhessar Prison.
On Tuesday, October 10, the regime’s judiciary hanged a Baluchi compatriot named Hossein Alizadeh in Bam Prison. On October 9, three inmates, including a Baluchi compatriot named Mohsen Safaei (Naroui), and another prisoner, were hanged in Kerman Prison, simultaneously with the hanging of another inmate in Isfahan Central Prison.
On October 8, Mehrab Sintab was hanged in Karaj Central Prison, and a Baluchi compatriot named Emam Baksh Gorgij met the gallows in Torbat Heydariyeh Prison.
The mercenaries of the judiciary hanged 13 inmates in Shiraz, Kerman, Vakil Abad in Mashhad, and Ramhormoz Prisons on October 1, five of whom were previously reported to be executed in the NCRI statement of October 3. Accordingly, the number of executed prisoners in the past three weeks has reached at least 45 cases.
In another development, in the Second Branch of Kermanshah Provincial Criminal Court, an inmate of the uprising named Reza Rasaei, 34, was sentenced to execution for the murder of Nader Bayrami, the commander of the IRGC Intelligence in Sahneh (Kermanshah province). Reza Rasaei was arrested on November 24, 2022, in Karaj, and after torture and interrogation in the IRGC detention center, he was transferred to Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah. Nader Beyrami, the former IRGC Intelligence commander in Sahneh, was killed on November 18, 2022, during popular uprisings in the city.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the United Nations, the European Union, and member states to condemn these heinous executions and take urgent action to halt the execution machine and carnage. The mullahs’ regime must be expelled from the international community, and its leaders, especially Khamenei, Ebrahim Raisi, and Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, should be held accountable for crimes against humanity and brought to justice.
