Former SC department of corrections director appointed U.S. Attonery for SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Former South Carolina Department of Corrections director Bryan Stirling was appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Stirling served as the director for the department of corrections for more than 10 years, making him the longest serving prison direction in the country.

Prior to working in the correctional system, he served as Deputy Attorney General for nearly six years.

He served as Chief of Staff from October 2012 to September 2013 for former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. In this role, he oversaw management of the governor’s cabinet and the Office of Executive Police and Programs.
