Emma Coronel will be released from prison on Wednesday, September 13th, US authorities confirmed.
The wife of Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán is currently serving a three-year sentence in a low-security federal institution in the city of Los Angeles.
Emma Coronel, wife of Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán, will be released on Wednesday, after her arrest in 2021 on drug trafficking charges, the United States Bureau of Prisons (BOP) reported.
Coronel, a mother of two of the Mexican kingpin’s daughters, is currently serving a three-year sentence in a low-security federal institution in the city of Los Angeles, California, on the border with Mexico.
The 34-year-old woman, born in the United States, was arrested in February 2021 at Dulle International Airport, Washington on charges of distribution of cocaine, heroin, and other drugs.
