This weeks’ lockdown at the state penitentiary resulted in searches, with multiple dangerous items being recovered from the site.
The state Department of Corrections reports unauthorized electronics and multiple makeshift weapons have been recovered.
The lockdown is not the result of a fight or disturbance on site but was instead a proactive measure for a top-to-bottom search of the facility.
The facility has on lockdown since Sunday. Officials said the entire facility will remain on secure status until searches are completed.
