Civil Rights and Social Justice Advocate Charged with “Indirect Contempt” on Behalf of a Client

On Point with Juandolyn Stokes welcomed Belinda Parker Brown, CEO and Co-Founder of Louisiana United International (LUI) and Dr. Annette Jackson also of LUI.

Parker Brown is an advocate for several of the doctors who were featured on our segments: “The Criminalization of Black and Brown Doctors.”

Parker Brown’s powerful advocacy work extends to several sectors of social justice and civil rights, yet she is being ordered to go before a judge in Louisiana to show cause for her advocacy work on behalf of a client. She is being charged with Indirect Contempt.

“People do not know their rights- civil rights or human rights and public defenders are not helpful because they offer plea bargain schemes,” said Parker Brown.

She added, “Judges are sick on power. They abuse their power and their rights as a judge.

Unfortunately, the public has witnessed ethical abuse as high as the United States Supreme Court where some of the Justice’s actions have been called into question.

“This is all about politics,” said Jackson. “This is threatening, intimidation, and bullying on the bench. I see this case getting dismissed because there is a lack of factual evidence. They are trying to put a crime on this powerful woman,” she added.

“Our criminal justice system is corrupt. It is wreaking with corruption,” said Parker Brown.

Parker Brown will be in court for her hearing on Thursday, September 7 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
