Taking advantage of the technological advancements that were once heralded as signs of progress, drones have gotten into the wrong hands and joined forces covertly with a slew of illegal activities.
In the latest example of such unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being misused, Bordeaux law enforcement officials in France have detained three people who were using drones to smuggle alcohol, drugs, iPhones, and other prohibited items into nearby prisons.
What is more surprising is that the alleged pilot behind this operation is a 17-year-old teenager who, due to legal age restrictions, found himself unable to drive in France.
Resourcefully navigating this limitation, he utilized the assistance of adult women partners who served as his chauffeurs, transporting him to the designated takeoff locations for his illegal drone activities.
