Bukele agrees with Trump and takes USA’s most dangerous prisoners to hellish prison in El Salvador

Donald Trump’s crusade against illegal immigrants continues. After mass arrests and deportations, as well as border controls negotiated with neighbors such as Mexico and Canada, the administration of the new US president is looking for new allies. El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele is the latest name in this scenario.

The country’s leader met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for three hours. The result of the talks ended with Bukele offering, according to the US leader, “to deport illegal aliens in the United States who are criminals of any nationality and house them in their prisons”. Rubio defined it as a great “offer of friendship”.

The alliance between Bukele and Trump

The good relationship between the governments of Bukele and Trump is not new. “We do not hide our sympathy for him. He is El Salvador’s most important partner. Being in the US ally box is better,” Bukele has said. The Salvadoran president has been satisfied with the migration agreement and has described it as positive for his country: “It is unprecedented, it is the most extraordinary.”

“In exchange for a small fee”

The CECOT (Terrorism Confinement Center) mega-prison, with a capacity for 40,000 inmates, to house deported criminals will be available to the United States in exchange for an economic price. The specific figures have not been disclosed, but Nayib Bukele has considered the agreement satisfactory.

“We are willing to only admit convicted criminals (including convicted US citizens) into our mega prison in exchange for a fee. It would be relatively low for the US, but significant for us and would make our entire prison system sustainable,” he commented on his X account. Both Elon Musk and Donald Trump have applauded the initiative.
