Shaheed El-Hafed, March 29, 2025 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Minister of Occupied Territories and Diaspora Affairs, Mustafa Mohamed Ali Sid El-Bashir, announced during a press conference held at the Media Archive headquarters the official launch of the International Campaign for the Release of Sahrawi Political Prisoners under the slogan “Freedom for Sahrawi Civilian Prisoners in Moroccan Jails.”
The press conference, attended by numerous state officials, journalists, and media representatives, focused on the official launch of the international campaign from France, aiming to raise global awareness about the suffering of Sahrawi political prisoners and the persecution, repression, and intimidation they endure in Moroccan occupation prisons.
In this context, the Minister of Occupied Territories and Diaspora Affairs emphasized that the support and monitoring of the political prisoners’ resilience have never ceased. He stated that the unwavering resistance of Sahrawi fighters in defense of the Sahrawi cause and the combat efforts of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army all align with the lofty national objectives. He also noted that the issue of Sahrawi political prisoners remains a fixed priority on the agenda of the National Secretariat Office and is continuously followed up by the Sahrawi government.
The international campaign sheds light on the suffering of the political prisoners and their families, as well as the repressive practices of the Moroccan occupation, including the blockade and isolation of occupied territories, the expulsion of foreign delegations, and the harassment of Sahrawi activists. Additionally, it highlights the continued plundering of resources, the forced displacement of indigenous people, and attempts to internationalize the conflict by attracting foreign investments to the occupied Sahrawi territories.
