The South Carolina Department of Corrections announced an inmate who played a role in the Lee Correctional Institution deadly riot of 2018.(Video above: Previous Coverage of the riot)According to the Department of Corrections, Inmate Stephen Green will go on trial on Monday, Sept. 23, for his role in the 2018 riot that resulted in the deaths of seven inmates and numerous injuries.Officials said Green’s charges are among the most serious of the riot. Green was charged with murder, assault and battery by mob and other charges in the riot.Green’s trial is set to begin jury selection at 10 a.m. at the Lee County Courthouse in Bishopville, South Carolina, where Judge Ferrell Cothran Jr. will preside.
