The Afienya Province of the Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) has donated essential supplies and held a two-day fellowship service with inmates at the Akuse Local Prisons, as part of activities marking its 40th anniversary.
Led by Superintendent Bishop Ransford Ofori-Panyine and the District Overseer of the Asutsuare/Akuse District, the church’s provincial council visited the facility to provide both spiritual and material support to the inmates.
The outreach included the donation of items such as bags of rice and gari, detergents, sanitary products, cartons of toothbrushes and toothpaste, tomato paste, and other essential goods.
During the two-day programme, the team engaged the inmates in prayer, worship, and the preaching of the Christian gospel. Bishop Ofori-Panyine delivered a sermon themed “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever,” drawn from Hebrews 13:8.
Several inmates are reported to have given their lives to Christ during the event, with others expressing renewed hope for the future. “We feel seen, loved, and hopeful,” one inmate said.
Church leaders say the initiative forms part of their mission to reach out to the vulnerable and demonstrate the practical love of Christ.
The VBCI Afienya Province says it remains committed to supporting both spiritual growth and social transformation, even behind prison walls.
