Palestinian child prisoners are isolated from the outside world

Today, on Palestinian Prisoners Day, hundreds of Palestinian children are isolated from their families in Israeli prisons where they endure torture and starvation at the hands of Israeli soldiers.

Earlier this month, this cruel treatment claimed the life of 17-year-old Walid Ahmad, who died in Megiddo prison after months of untreated infections, prolonged malnutrition and dehydration, and intense beatings from Israeli forces. Walid is the first Palestinian child in the history of Israel’s military occupation to die in an Israeli prison, and no one has been held accountable for his death.

Israeli forces have been permitted to act with complete impunity for so long that now, they are detaining children younger than the age of criminal responsibility, torturing children from Gaza, and completely isolating child detainees from the outside world. Every Palestinian child prisoner is at risk, and they must all be released from Israeli custody immediately.

What will it take for world leaders to finally hold Israeli authorities for torturing and imprisoning Palestinian children, more than a third of whom are held without charge or trial? Send this email to your elected officials and demand they take action today on Palestinian Prisoners Day.
