WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Washtenaw County.
There are all kinds of festive holiday events happening throughout the county, with options for shopping, parades and tree lightings. Here are five fun things happening from Friday, Dec. 1, to Sunday, Dec. 3.
1. Moonlight Madness, Midnight Madness and Kerrytown Kindlefest in Ann Arbor
Downtown Ann Arbor businesses are staying open late with three events happening Friday, Dec. 1.
Midnight Madness, Moonlight Madness and Kerrytown Kindlefest are kicking off the holiday season in Ann Arbor with extended shopping hours, sales, restaurant specials and family friendly entertainment.

2. Annual Milan Christmas Parade
Milan is hosting its annual Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 2.
The Milan Area Chamber is behind the tradition that’s been happening more than 20 years. Live music begins at 5:30 p.m. in Tolan Square, while the parade officially starts at 7 p.m.

3. Saline Cocoa Crawl
Get ready to indulge in all things cocoa with this upcoming event in Saline.
Saline Main Street is hosting its second annual Cocoa Crawl from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.
Participants are invited to sample cocoa and chocolate-themed treats at participating Main Street businesses before the city’s parade. Learn more online.
4. Holiday Makers Market in Ypsilanti
Michigan local makers, crafters and vintage vendors are showing out for the Holiday Makers Market from noon to 5 p.m. at Ziggy’s and Bloodroot Herb Shop in Ypsilanti. The two businesses at 206 and 208 W. Michigan Ave. are teaming up to put on this indoor holiday market.

5. Participate in an art auction
The Prison Creative Arts Project is having its 2023 Art Auction starting at the Michigan Union Courtyard, 530 S. State St. on Saturday, Dec. 2. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The artwork being auctioned features pieces created by artists in the Linkage Community, artists currently incarcerated, the Prison Creative Arts Project curators, University of Michigan faculty and some other local artists.
This art auction raises funds for the 28th annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons.
