HARVEST, Ala. — Two former Limestone County jail workers and the wife of one of the ex-employees were arrested after a search of the couple’s home yielded meth, marijuana, drugs and drones, the Alabama Department of Corrections said Wednesday.
Narcotics and K-9 units with the ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division along with Cullman County sheriff’s deputies executed search warrants at the Cullman County home of James and Sophia Chambers as part of a contraband operation, the agency said. James Chambers is a former Limestone County jail employee.
Inside the house, authorities found 1.4 pounds of meth, about 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana, five guns and 10 drones, the agency said.
The Chamberses were taken to the Cullman County jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and first-degree possession of marijuana. More charges are pending, the ADOC said.
The investigation also led to the arrest of Becca Marsh, a former correctional officer at Limestone County Correctional Facility, the agency announced.
ADOC agents discovered 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine at Marsh’s home.
The officer was taken to the Limestone County jail on a charge of use of official position for personal gain.
The investigation remained ongoing Wednesday and additional charges are pending, the agency said.
